The artist creates watercolor paintings inspired by femininity as a dynamic interaction of various biological and cultural factors. Passionate about jazz, classical music and tribal fusion dance, Maya loves to explore the bonding between performer, their instrument and the sound & motion as essence of improvisation. Another big theme interprets the sexual aspect of femininity as a set of attributes, behaviors, and roles generally associated with women. The whiplash lines, recalling Art nouveau are gently integrated with some impressionist strokes and different ethno - Afro, Indian and Japanese ornamentation.
